“I started in Florida, I didn’t know anybody here in this area. And I went out to stores on the beach. I came up with a whole line of stickers with beach designs. I presented my product and everybody liked it because they haven’t seen anything like this.” Archie Perleberg, Founder

Welcome back to Behind the Print podcast, where we feature industry leaders and uncover the creative minds behind businesses in the professional printing world. Our mission is to provide you with inspiring, actionable resources to elevate your business projects and accelerate your journey to excellence in profit and print.

Today’s episode is Creating Excitement & Fun with AR Design Group LLC, and I’m here today with Owner and CEO of Living Cards USA, Archie Perleberg!

Zoe Fisher: Archie, it’s so great to have you on! Let’s start with the big question—how did you first come up with the idea of combining AR (augmented reality) with print?

Archie Perleberg: Thanks for having me, Zoe! My background is in the greeting card industry. Over the years, I’ve seen how digital advancements have changed how people interact with print, but I wanted to find a way to make print more engaging rather than replace it.

When I learned about Web AR technology, I knew it could revolutionize the industry. Instead of a static greeting card or sticker, I could create something interactive—where people could scan a QR code and see a 3D animation, message, or character pop up right on their phone. That was the moment I knew I had something special.

“Trust your gut feeling. You need creativity in pricing, distribution, advertising, and promotion. A lot of people stop with a product, that’s wrong.” Archie Perleberg, Founder

Zoe Fisher: That’s amazing! So how does it actually work?

Archie Perleberg: It’s all powered by Web AR, which means no app is needed—customers just scan a QR code on the print product, and it instantly opens a 3D animation in their browser.

We started with AR greeting cards, where a video message could appear when scanned. Now, we’ve expanded into stickers, postcards, and even large-format murals—all with interactive AR elements.

Zoe Fisher: Once you had this concept, how did you convince retailers to carry your AR-enhanced products?

Archie Perleberg: The best way to sell it was to let people experience it for themselves. I walked into stores, set up meetings, and handed them a product with a QR code. The moment they scanned it and saw a 3D animation appear, they were hooked!

Now, my AR stickers are in over 100 stores, and during peak seasons, we’ve reached over 100,000 customers with our interactive print products. It’s been incredible seeing people get excited about AR and print working together.

“AI is changing everything. Before, creativity was something that not many people could deliver. Now, creativity is not the problem anymore because you have endless designs. The challenge now is how to market your product.” Archie Perleberg, Founder

Zoe Fisher: You mentioned earlier that one of the biggest hurdles was educating customers. Can you talk more about that?

Archie Perleberg: Absolutely. The biggest challenge was that people assumed AR required a special app. Many didn’t realize that WebAR makes scanning seamless—just like opening a link.

We tackled this by adding clear instructions on our packaging and even creating demo videos to show people how easy it is. Once they see how simple it is, they love it!

Zoe Fisher: That’s such a great point! Interactive print is still new for a lot of people, so making it intuitive is key.

Zoe Fisher: So what’s next for Living Cards USA?

Archie Perleberg: We’re expanding into postcards, magnets, and custom merchandise for zoos, tourist destinations, and gift shops. Imagine visiting a national park, buying a postcard, scanning the QR code, and seeing a 3D bear walking across the card!

There’s also huge potential for branding and marketing—companies can use AR on business cards, packaging, and even direct mail to create unforgettable experiences.

Zoe Fisher: I love that! Before we wrap up, where can people connect with you?

Archie Perleberg: They can email me at ARDesignGroupLLC@gmail.com or visit LivingCardsUSA.com to see our latest AR print products..

“ On the one hand, everyone who is ignoring AI or thinks that their business will go on as usual, and that’s like 90 percent of people, they are the losers. Only the ones who really implemented AI in their work will be the winners, and you can become a winner in a few weeks.” Archie Perleberg, Founder
